 Importance of Learning English

Language is used as a medium of expressing man's views to others. In this modern age, to maintain effective communication with the rest of the world, a generally accepted language is very important. English is that generally accepted language. To keep pace with the progressive modern world a person needs to learn English. It is an international language because everywhere in the world we can move if we know English. It is spoken all over the world. No other language than English can serve the purpose of a common language.

 In statistics, it is seen that about 350 million people speak English as a first language and another 300 million people use it as a second language. Not only that it is the official or semi-official language in more than sixty countries. In every sphere of life English is a must. If we want to get a higher education, we need to learn English because most of the books of higher education are written in English. Besides, learners who want to go abroad for higher education, English is a must for them. To get a good job we should learn English because of social correspondence is run in English. In order to be a businessman, we are to learn English as international trade and commerce is run through English. Thus it helps education, business, trade and commerce. So, there is no alternative but to learn English. Medical science and computer are based on English. These two sectors play a vital role in the modern age. If someone wants to acquire skill in these two subjects he must learn English. As English can serve the purpose of a common language. On the other hand, the basic trend of modern civilisation in interchanging and intermixing of information from the different corners of the world. So, English has to be learnt for a brighter future and prosperous nation.
