COVID-19 is a new type of infectious disease. The novel coronavirus is a new strain of coronavirus that has not been previously identified in humans. A newly identified coronavirus has caused a worldwide pandemic of respiratory illness, called COVID-19. Several known coronaviruses are circulating in animals that have not yet infected humans. COVID-19 appeared in Wuhan, a city in China, in December 2019. It spread in other countries in a few months. Including China, many countries were in lockdown to prevent the virus. But it spread in the whole world and became a pandemic. There are no medicines that have been shown to prevent or cure the disease.

It starts with a fever and a dry cough. COVID-19 symptoms include shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches, sore throat, the new loss of taste or smell, headache, nausea or vomiting, and runny nose. Eventually, this disease can lead to death. This virus can be transmitted from person to person, usually after close contact with an infected patient. COVID-19 infects people of all ages but two groups of people are at a higher risk. These are older people who are over 60years old and those with underlying medical conditions such as diabetics, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer. There is no effective vaccine yet. There is no specific treatment for COVID-19. Mental support is essential for a coronavirus infected person. Many patients are recovering without hospitalization. To prevent coronavirus, we should wash our hands frequently, coughing into the bend of our elbow, staying home, wearing a facemask, and keep a social distance.
